Junior Developer

The Pepper restaurant app lets customers pay their dining check from their phone instead of using a physical credit card. We are in-market with 500+ restaurants in the UK and funded by both UK and US investors. We just expanded into the US and it's time to start building the team!

We are looking for a full-stack engineer to work directly with our CTO and Team Leads to implement new features into our platform. We also have a variety of subcontractors for you to work with and give guidance.

This position is remote so being self-directed and capable of working in a fast-paced environment is a must. Our lead engineer is in the Charlotte area so we’ll meet a few times per month, and we are opening an office in Miami so there will be periodic travel requests as well.

Responsibilities:

• Engineer platform features and enhance current codebase
• Lead our subcontractors, perform code review, and perform deployments
• Write and assign actionable issues in JIRA
• Manage multiple point-of-sale integrations

Skills and Requirements:

• PHP/Laravel and/or TypeScript/NodeJS/Express
• SQL, MongoDB, and/or DynamoDB
• Git (branching, merging, etc.)
• Knowledge of QA practices and unit testing
• Familiarity with AWS services
• Docker and/or VMs

Restaurant and working with point-of-sales systems is a plus! We love to hire people that have worked in restaurants so don't be afraid to put that on your resume.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £60,000.00-£90,000.00 per year
